When selecting a package there is also a help guide with extra information specific to that package: Package Help: The Package Help for each emulator should show you: - The name of the package - ROM extensions - ROM folder - BIOS filename and folder if applicable If you are worried about conflicts during an update you can always just start with the latest fresh sd image which can be downloaded here and just copy all your files back over onto that instead of updating from an older image. So you must take care of this yourself during kernel configuration ("General Setup", "Open by fhandle syscalls").Otherwise your kernel will boot, rootfs will mount and after that nothing will happen: no login prompt will appear on any console. There was a separate track for each Mac/Windows/Linux and several manual and error-prone steps along the way. If the SD card is connected in another way, the device nodes can change to be even different, take this into account. (Multiply it by two to get the corresponding sector number - assuming 512 byte sectors).
